The Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine & Surgery (BHMS) is a Five-and-a-Half-Year medical udergraduate course with the Course Curriculum developed by National Commission for Homoeopathy (NCH) under Ministry of AYUSH, Govt. of India, New Delhi.
It is an equally in-demand medical course which covers all the subjects like Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pathology, Forensic Medicine, Surgery including Ophthalmology & ENT, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Practice of Medicine, Community Medicine alongwith Homeopathic subjects of Pharmacy, Materia Medica, Organon of Medicine & Repertory.

BACHELOR OF HOMEOPATHIC MEDICINE AND SURGERY (BHMS)

The Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS) is an undergraduate degree program in the field of homeopathy, a system of alternative medicine. This course equips students with the knowledge and skills required to practice homeopathic medicine supplemented with knowledge of scientific and technological advancement in modern health science and related technology along with extensive practical training, be able to function as an efficient holistic health care practitioner in health care service in the urban and rural areas.

COURSE DURATION

Duration of Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery (B.H.M.S) Course shall be for a period of 5½ years spread over 4½ years of annual curriculum plus 1 year of compulsory rotatory internship in all the departments of modern medicine and homeopathy.

COMPETENCY-BASED DYNAMIC CURRICULUM (CBDC) BY NCH

The National Commission for Homeopathy (NCH) has introduced a Competency-Based Dynamic Curriculum (CBDC) to modernize and standardize homeopathy education in India.

INTERNSHIP

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

10+2 in CBSE / ISC / any State Board, with Biology, Physics and Chemistry subjects or Intermediate AP / TS with Biology, Physics and Chemistry subjects.

Age Limit: Usually, candidates must have completed 17 years at the time of admission. There is no upper age limit.

ADMISSION PROCESS

Admission to the BHMS course is usually based on NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) followed by counselling and seat allocation by KNR University of Health Sciences Telangana.

Admissions are based on National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) merit through counseling – 15% Seats in All India Quota (AIQ) & 85% Seats in State Quota. The 85% State Quota Seats are filled through University counseling.
